Suckin' up some ink....

A month or so ago I made an appointment to get my second tattoo. Last year for me and my sisters birthday presents Mom said she would put $30 towards any tattoo we wanted to get. That was July and September. Yes, it took THIS long to a) get up the nerve to get another one b) figure out what I wanted to get and c) to talk Mom into getting one too! If you all know my sister she would have gotten it the next day but she wanted us all to go together. Which might I add totally rocked!

Anywho, I finally figured out kinda sorta what I wanted. Mom wanted one so much, but was scared my Dad would kill her. She actually said that. "I'm scared your Dad is gonna kill me" Too flippin funny! I don't think he really cared, he just wanted to make a big deal about nothing so he pretended to go all caveman-y on her. MEN!

So, Alyssa knew what she wanted. She is all nonchalant about it. She puts TOTAL faith in Ed (that is our tattoo artists name). She told him what she wanted and said okay, draw it up and show me. Not me, I was all bossy and scared. I had anxiety. My blood pressure was probably 150/100. I DON'T KNOW WHY! Jeez. No judging people! I really REALLY really regret NOT drinking at least 2 glasses of wine before I went. I would have been much more relaxed and cool. I would have been the 'cool' woman getting the tattoo. Not the I'm a Mom and I know all the bad things that can happen in life and this branding is for life and what if it's ugly and blah blah blah. Instead. I was NOT cool. I was a pain in the BUTT. To know me is to love me.

So...onto tattoo talk. My Mom is turning 60 this year. Next week to be exact. And darnit. She WANTED a tattoo. She collects gnomes. She has lots of the Tom Clark gnomes. So, she chose a gnome for her tat -that's cool tattoo talk folks! It is so totally cute.

Mom's 1st tattoo. Her bday present to herself! She loves it. For days she would say over and over "I wish I had it done sooner!"

My sister loves the Beatles. Always has. She had posters all over her side of the room and we always had to listen to them. I'm totally not complaining. I love them too. Just not like her. =)

Here she is rocking it!! Notice the blood dripping on the bottom of the strawberry. EWWWWW...

Last but not least...ME!! If you know me personally you know John (Big Daddy) calls me lil' mama. He has for years. He used to call me 'Country' long long ago. After kids, we became Big Daddy and lil' mama. It's also my blog name. In case you forgot. ;)

I do have to say...Ed (our tatto dude) said me and Mom's skin "sucked up" that ink. I think that is some kind of tattoo getting compliment. I hope it is anyway. Kinda grossed me out a bit, if only I had a few glasses of wine in my system I would have been so totally fine with it. Ohh well..can I just say it was a VERY sobering experience.
